Description

The Cl 800 DIN is a chloride-selective combination electrode fitted with a 1 m DIN cable for direct connection to compatible meters. It covers a measuring range from 2 to 35 000 mg/l chloride and is intended for ion-selective determinations in aqueous laboratory samples. The electrode requires ELY/BR/503 reference electrolyte, ISA/FK ionic-strength adjuster solution and ES/Cl standard solution for correct operation and calibration; the reference electrolyte is included in the delivery. Designed as a combination (Einstabmesskette) sensor, it integrates measuring and reference half-cells in one body for straightforward handling and reduced setup time. From manufacturer WTW – a Xylem brand, the Cl 800 DIN supports routine chloride monitoring in environmental, process and quality-control laboratories. The fixed DIN cable simplifies instrument docking without additional adapters. Supplied as a single piece, it is ready for use once filled and conditioned according to the recommended electrolyte and ISA protocol.

What is this article?

Cl 800 DIN, Combined Chloride selective electrode, with 3.3 ft (1 m) cable, DIN is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes WTW - a Xylem brand for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
