Description
DURAN® GL 45 replacement folding blade stirrer with shaft is a standalone bottle stirring component for simple laboratory mixing tasks. The adjustable stirrer shaft can be set to the optimum position inside a 500 or 1000 ml DURAN® GL 45 bottle and is intended for use with standard magnetic stirrers up to 500 rpm, giving clearly improved mixing performance compared with conventional magnetic stir bars. Chemically resistant construction in PP, PTFE, PEEK and stainless steel from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences ensures broad media compatibility; parts in contact with media meet FDA requirements and the assembly is fully autoclavable. Two GL 14 connection caps work with common DURAN® connection systems so that semi-rigid tubing with outer diameters from 1,6 mm to 6,0 mm can be used to add or remove liquids or gases. The unit is not designed for overhead laboratory stirrers. Typical uses include simple cost-effective bioreactors, continuous-flow stirred reactors, mixing of liquids, samples or reagents, and photo-bioreactor setups. Supplied as one piece without bottle.

Questions about DURAN® GL 45 Stirred Bottle Reactor System
What is this article?
DURAN® GL 45 Stirred Bottle Reactor System is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
