Description

Nalgene™ acrylic burette 25 ml is a break-resistant laboratory burette engineered for reproducible, precise titration work. The body is manufactured from acrylic, while the outlet tip is made of polymethylpentene and the stopcock with plug is produced from Teflon™ TFE (PTFE). Graduations are marked at 0,10 ml intervals with a tolerance of ±0,06 ml; the burette meets ASTM E287 requirements and is rated Class B. The shatterproof acrylic construction reduces breakage risk compared with glass while still allowing clear meniscus reading. Smooth, chemically resistant flow control is provided by the PTFE stopcock during dispensing. Supplied from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics as individual units with four pieces per carton, these burettes suit educational laboratories, quality-control titration benches and routine analytical procedures where durability and consistent volumetric performance are essential. The combination of acrylic body, polymethylpentene tip and PTFE stopcock delivers reliable day-to-day service in demanding laboratory environments.

This article is part of Burettes, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about Nalgene™ Acrylic Burets with PMP Tip, TFE Stopcock and Plug

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Acrylic Burets with PMP Tip, TFE Stopcock and Plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Burettes, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.

A burette delivers a measured volume through a stopcock, which is how a titration is read. Class A and class AS state the tolerance. The stopcock, glass or PTFE, and the volume of the burette are the choices. A dirty bore changes the delivered volume.

Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
