Description
Peptone ex casein, CELLPURE, for cell culture, Storage temp. +15 to +25 °C, CAS No. 91079-40-2, EC No. 293-428-4
Peptones, as protein hydrolysates (PHL), offer a rich composition of amino acids, peptides, vitamins, carbohydrates, nucleosides, minerals, and other constituents. They are essential in the cultivation of various cell lines, serving as a partial substitute for fetal bovine serum (FBS) in chemically defined or serum-reduced cell culture media. Peptones have been demonstrated to significantly enhance cell growth and protein synthesis, making them particularly valuable in the production of biopharmaceutical products and vaccines.
Our cell culture peptones have been proven to achieve improved cell growth and optimized cell performance compared to other peptones suitable for cell culture. This is due to a unique manufacturing process that enables peptone purification without ultrafiltration. As a result, the endotoxin content is significantly lower than the usual levels. At the same time, essential growth factors and other nutrients are maximally preserved.
- Minimal endotoxin content (≤ 200 EU/g)
- Increased content of nutrients and growth factors
- Optimized cell growth
- Improved cell performance
- For the support of serum-reduced cell cultures
Peptone from casein is the product of a pancreatic digest of casein.
| Instructions for use, addition | Peptones are typically used in culture media at a concentration of 1–2 g/l. It is recommended to prepare a peptone solution using cell culture-grade water and to sterilize it by filtration before adding it to the medium. |
