Photometer for low-range iron is a portable, battery-powered photometer dedicated to photometric iron determination in the low range up to 1,60 mg/L (as Fe). An advanced optical system with LED source, narrow-band interference filter at 525 nm and silicon photocell delivers repeatable results at 0,01 mg/L resolution and accuracy of ±0,01 mg/L ±8 % of reading at 25 °C, while sealed optics keep dust, dirt and water out and the holder positions round 24,6 mm cuvettes consistently. Iron often occurs at low levels in natural water; elevated concentrations can affect drinking-water taste, damage fixtures, favour certain bacteria and indicate corrosion in heating and cooling systems, with a drinking-water limit of 0,2 mg/L under relevant regulations. CAL Check™ and NIST-traceable standards allow on-demand performance checks and recalibration, and the tutorial mode walks through sample preparation and required reagents. From manufacturer Hanna Instruments, the meter provides German menu guidance, GLP calibration recall, storage of the last 50 readings, reaction timer, battery indicator, automatic shut-off and IP67 protection for 0 to 50 °C use. The carrying-case set includes two capped measuring cuvettes, plastic inserts, CAL Check™ standards, scissors, cuvette cleaning cloth, three 1,5 V batteries, instrument quality certificate and operating manual; reagents are ordered separately.
