Photometer for sulphate is a portable, battery-powered instrument from the HI97xxx series designed for photometric determination of sulphate up to 150 mg/L. It succeeds the HI96xxx line and combines reliable, accurate readings with straightforward operation. An advanced optical system uses an LED and a narrow-band interference filter at 466 nm with a silicon photocell detector, sealed against dust, dirt and water; cuvettes seat reproducibly in the holder for consistent results. Sulphate occurs widely in natural waters and is closely monitored in drinking water and beverage production, including beer, where it influences odour and taste. CAL Check™ with NIST-traceable standards lets users verify performance and recalibrate when needed, while the built-in tutorial guides sample preparation and reagent use step by step. Further functions include GLP with last calibration date and time, automatic storage of the last 50 readings, an on-screen reaction timer, battery-level indication and auto power-off. The unit is rated IP67 for 0 to 50 °C operation. Supplied by Hanna Instruments in a transport case with two capped measuring cuvettes, plastic inserts, CAL Check™ standards, scissors, cuvette cleaning cloth, three 1,5 V batteries, quality certificate and manual; reagents are ordered separately.
