Description
R 50 high-speed stirring shaft converts the T 50 digital disperser into a high-speed stirrer for applications that require medium to high shear forces. The dissolver disc of the mixing head, combined with elevated rotational speed, enables rapid mixing, dissolving and deagglomeration of process media. A protective basket surrounds the mixing element to support safe operation during high-speed use. The R 1402 dissolver is included; alternatively the mixing head can be converted with accessory R 1405 to a propeller configuration for low to medium viscosities at lower shear. Immersion depth is 180 mm, the working range covers 0,25–30 l, and the rotor diameter is 40 mm. The shaft is manufactured from stainless steel AISI 316L for chemical resistance and durability in laboratory environments. This accessory from manufacturer IKA is supplied as one complete piece and is intended for users who need flexible high-shear or low-shear stirring options on a single drive unit. It supports efficient sample preparation, dissolution and dispersion workflows across a practical volume span.
This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about R 50, Stirring shaft, high speed
What is this article?
R 50, Stirring shaft, high speed is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
