Description

Scalpel handle, fig. 6, with locking mechanism is a laboratory instrument handle designed for secure blade retention during dissection, histology and routine cutting work. The plastic handle is made of polypropylene (PP) and incorporates a locking mechanism that holds the blade firmly in place, reducing the risk of accidental release under load. A protective cap is supplied with the unit to cover the fitted blade between uses and during storage or transport. Overall length is 150 mm, giving a balanced grip suitable for controlled manual work at the bench or under the microscope. This Bayha-type handle fits the corresponding blade system used in microscopy, histology and general laboratory instrumentation. Supplied as a single piece, the lightweight PP construction is easy to clean and handle in everyday lab workflows. The combination of locking retention, protective cap and compact length makes the fig. 6 handle a practical choice wherever reliable blade control and basic personal protection of the cutting edge are required in preparative and analytical settings.

What is this article?

Scalpel handle, fig. 6, w. locking mech., plastic handle, protect. cap, PP is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bayha for laboratory use. It sits in Scissors, scalpels & dissecting instruments, inside Tools & accessories, in Labware.

Scissors, scalpels and dissecting instruments cut or hold tissue and tough samples. The edge and the shape, blunt or sharp, straight or curved, are the specification. A dissecting set is not a surgical implant set.

The small tools of the bench are what the hand actually holds: a spatula for a powder, forceps for an object that must stay clean, a brush for a narrow neck, a desiccator when a dried sample must not take up water again. None of these reads a measurement. They keep the measurement possible. The apparatus around them is listed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
