Description

SILICOSEN® sterile stoppers, pink T28, are specially manufactured stoppers with regular pores that make them ideal for the preparation and sterilisation of culture media. Uniform pore structure and good air permeability support effective gas exchange, so the stoppers are well suited to the cultivation of aerobic microorganisms in laboratory culture work. Chemically and temperature resistant as well as liquid-repellent, these reusable closures withstand typical handling during media preparation and sterilisation. Each pack contains 10 pieces in the pink T28 format for culture tubes and related vessels. The SILICOSEN® design from manufacturer Hirschmann balances sterile covering with the aeration aerobic cultures require, helping maintain controlled conditions during media prep and growth steps. Liquid-repellent behaviour limits wetting at the stopper interface, while chemical and thermal resistance supports repeated use under standard laboratory conditions. Originating from Japan and supplied as a convenient 10-piece pack, the pink T28 stoppers suit routine microbiology and culture-media applications where porous, reusable sterile stoppers are preferred.

Questions about SILICOSEN® (1 PACK = 10 PCS), STERIL STOPPER, PINK, T28

What is this article?

SILICOSEN® (1 PACK = 10 PCS), STERIL STOPPER, PINK, T28 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hirschmann for laboratory use. It sits in Rubber & silicone stoppers, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A rubber or silicone stopper is pushed into a mouth. The size number corresponds to a top and bottom diameter. Silicone survives higher temperatures and more autoclave cycles. Natural rubber is attacked by oils and by some solvents.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
