Description

Space-saving canister, 5 L, S50, type 2 is a compact laboratory waste and solvent container with a standardised 5 L (5000 ml) capacity and S50 thread. Made from electrically dissipative high-density polyethylene (PE-HD / HDPE), the canister is intended for use in confined laboratory areas, beside HPLC systems and inside safety cabinets where floor space is limited. External dimensions are 65 × 335 × 335 mm (W × H × D), so the footprint remains only a fraction of that of conventional canisters while full working volume is retained. The design follows the same high safety approach as full-size safety canisters and is offered as type 2 in the space-saving range. Level monitoring can be arranged with an optional float; the standard configuration is supplied without a float. This space-saving canister from manufacturer SCAT provides a practical alternative for laboratories that must store or collect liquids next to instruments without sacrificing capacity or chemical resistance. The S50 neck accepts matching safety caps and adapters for closed waste handling. Pack size is one piece, suitable for direct installation in tight bench or cabinet layouts.

Questions about Space saving canister, 5 L, S50, Type 2

What is this article?

Space saving canister, 5 L, S50, Type 2 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes SCAT for laboratory use. It sits in Canisters & jerrycans, inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A canister or jerrycan holds litres, not millilitres, and it is shaped to be carried and to pour. The material has to survive the liquid for the whole time the can sits in the store.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
