STAMMOPUR RD 5 is a concentrated instrument cleaner for removing soiling from tools, workpieces and medical devices arising during manufacture and processing in the dental laboratory. The 1,0 litre concentrate is used chiefly to clear machining residues such as waxes as well as polishing and grinding debris from dental restorations including crowns, implants and prostheses, and from processing instruments. It is especially suited to stubborn, dried-on contamination from blood, secretions, sputum and tissue remnants. Cleaning can be performed in an ultrasonic bath or by immersion, and the product also supports manual cleaning and pre-cleaning of dental, surgical, invasive and non-invasive dental instruments, accessories and medical-device components in practices, clinics, oral surgery and orthodontics. STAMMOPUR RD 5 from manufacturer Bandelin shows very high material compatibility with stainless steel, instrument steel, titanium, glass, porcelain, ceramic and plastics, but is not intended for aluminium or alkali-sensitive metals such as copper, brass, tin and zinc. Dosage is 3 % with ultrasound (3–10 min) or 5 % without ultrasound (up to 60 min). Fresh blood and protein soils are treated cold; stubborn soils may be warmed to 60 °C. The diluted alkaline solution is prepared with water of at least drinking quality, without added auxiliaries.
