Description
T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX® is a high-performance disperser offering a wide speed range from 3000 to 25000 rpm and a working volume of up to 1500 ml (water). It achieves high circumferential speeds even with small rotor diameters, enabling efficient emulsifying, homogenising, dispersing and suspending as well as particle-size reduction into the micrometre range. The brushless motor delivers longer service life, quieter running and suitability for hygienic applications. Digital speed display and setting, combined with a timer function, support precise control and unattended operation. A quick coupling allows fast exchange of dispersing elements for cleaning and maintenance. A USB interface provides remote control and documentation via the laboratory software labworldsoft®. A broad choice of stainless-steel tools with high chemical resistance or disposable plastic tools is available separately; dispersing tools of the T 18 digital remain compatible. This unit from manufacturer IKA is supplied without a dispersing tool and has a net weight of 4,160 kg.
This article is part of Homogenisers & dispersers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX®, Disperser
What is this article?
T 18 brushless digital ULTRA-TURRAX®, Disperser is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
