Description
T 18 mini digital ULTRA-TURRAX® is an economical high-performance disperser covering a wide speed range from 3000 to 25,000 rpm for working volumes up to 1,5 litres (H2O). Even with small rotor diameters it reaches high peripheral speeds, while the compact housing allows use in confined bench space. A large TFT display remains clearly readable from a distance, including outside a fume hood. The unit is best suited to straightforward homogenisation of low-viscosity samples and supports efficient emulsifying, homogenising, dispersing, suspending and particle-size reduction down to the micrometre range. Digital speed display and setting, a brushless motor for longer service life, quieter running and more hygienic operation, plus a timer for unattended runs are included. Dispersing elements are available in chemically resistant stainless steel or plastic in two sizes; a quick coupling enables fast tool changes for cleaning and maintenance. A USB interface permits remote control and parameter documentation with IKA labworldsoft® software. All S 18 dispersing tools and accessories are compatible; the dispersing tool itself is not included. This disperser is supplied by manufacturer IKA as a complete drive unit for laboratory dispersion work.
This article is part of Homogenisers & dispersers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about T 18 mini digital ULTRA-TURRAX®, Disperser
What is this article?
T 18 mini digital ULTRA-TURRAX®, Disperser is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
