TICKOPUR J 80 U is a ready-to-use acidic, cyanide-free deoxidation agent for ultrasonic cleaning of non-ferrous and precious metals in craft, industrial and laboratory settings. The liquid preparation removes oxide and sulphide layers, flux residues, oils and greases from stainless steels and their alloys, copper, bronze and brass parts such as jewellery, coins and art objects. It is intended for use only in an insert vessel and is designed especially for SONOREX ultrasonic units from manufacturer Bandelin, while remaining suitable for immersion and wipe application. With ultrasound, exposure is kept under 30 seconds at room temperature; without ultrasound the contact time should not exceed three minutes. The ultrasonic tank is filled with a contact liquid (for example TICKOPUR R 33 at 3 %), and TICKOPUR J 80 U is placed in a separate insert vessel such as a beaker. After treatment, workpieces are rinsed thoroughly with water, preferably demineralised water, and dried. At pH 1,5 the formulation offers very short deoxidation times, tarnish protection and biodegradability. Jewellery with pearls, coral or amber, as well as gold- or silver-plated items, may be attacked; dissimilar metals should be treated in separate containers. Limit deoxidation time to a minimum and perform preliminary compatibility tests on sensitive materials.
