TICKOPUR J 80 U is a ready-to-use acidic, cyanide-free deoxidation agent for ultrasonic cleaning of non-ferrous and precious metals in craft, industry and laboratory work. The liquid preparation, supplied in a 5 L pack, removes oxide and sulphide layers, flux residues, oils and greases from precious metals and their alloys as well as copper, bronze and brass parts such as jewellery, coins and art objects. With a pH of 1,5 it delivers very short deoxidation times and includes anti-tarnish protection when used correctly. It is intended for SONOREX ultrasonic units from manufacturer Bandelin and must be applied only in an insert vessel; immersion and wipe methods are also possible. Typical ultrasonic exposure is under 30 seconds at room temperature; without ultrasound, contact stays below 3 minutes—do not heat additionally. Rinse thoroughly with water, preferably demineralised water, and dry immediately. Pearl, coral, amber, gold-plated and silver-plated items may be attacked; process dissimilar metals in separate containers. Preliminary compatibility tests on sensitive materials are recommended. The formulation is biodegradable and supports rapid, material-friendly cleaning when exposure is kept to a minimum.
