Description

UniversalFluid Si150 LV (UF.Si.N30.150.10LV) is a clear, silicone-based universal temperature-control fluid formulated for laboratory heating and cooling baths. In closed baths such as HBC and CBC systems it covers a working range from −30 to 150 °C; in open baths (ICC, IC) the recommended range is −30 to 130 °C. At 25 °C the fluid exhibits a viscosity of 10 mPa, supporting stable circulation and efficient heat transfer across the stated temperature window. Supplied as a 9 kg quantity, the clear silicone medium is intended for routine thermostatting applications where a single fluid must serve both low-temperature and moderately elevated set-points. UniversalFluid Si150 LV from manufacturer IKA is suited to closed-loop and open-bath configurations used in sample preparation, reaction control and calibration work. Its silicone base provides the thermal stability expected of dedicated bath fluids while remaining easy to handle and top up in everyday laboratory practice.

This article is part of Dehydrated culture media (agar & broth bases), in Culture media & microbiology. See also Petri dishes.

What is this article?

UF.Si.N30.150.10LV, UniversalFluid Si150 LV is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Dehydrated culture media (agar & broth bases), inside Culture media & microbiology, in Microbiology lab supplies.

A dehydrated medium is a powder the laboratory dissolves, sterilises and pours. The formulation name, the supplements it still needs, and the grams per litre are the specification. Two powders with similar names, one selective and one not, grow different organisms.

A culture medium is the food and the solid or liquid home of a microorganism. Dehydrated media are powders the laboratory dissolves and sterilises. Ready-to-use plates and tubes are already that. A Petri dish is the plate. Selective media let one kind of organism grow and hold another back. The formulation and the supplements, not the colour of the agar, are the specification. Reference strains are at ATCC. Methods are on PubMed. Biosafety practice is the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
