Description

VACSTAR lite S003 is a speed-controlled, two-cylinder vacuum pump intended for universal dry and oil-free vacuum applications in the laboratory. Fitted with chemically resistant membranes and delivering an ultimate vacuum of 9 mbar, it covers nearly all standard laboratory vacuum duties. The pump is optimised for rotary evaporators, laboratory reactors, tempering cabinets, centrifuges and related instruments, and is equally suitable for classical Schlenk-line setups and standard filtrations. A compact, narrow footprint allows convenient placement behind other devices, freeing valuable bench space while keeping the unit accessible. Integrated device communication enables coordinated operation with vacuum controllers and circulating thermostats. When used with the VC 10 lite vacuum controller, an integrated valve-cleaning function helps clear solvent residues and prolong system service life; use of the VSE 1 emission condenser accessory is recommended. This IKA model with Swiss plug is supplied as one piece and provides durable, low-maintenance support for everyday laboratory vacuum processes.

Questions about VACSTAR lite S003, Vacuum pump with Swiss plug

What is this article?

VACSTAR lite S003, Vacuum pump with Swiss plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Vacuum pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.

A laboratory vacuum pump lowers pressure for filtration or evaporation. A diaphragm pump tolerates solvent vapour better than an oil-sealed rotary vane pump, and it reaches a milder vacuum. The ultimate vacuum and the flow, and whether the wetted path survives the solvent, are the choices.

A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
