Description
Coated volumetric flask class A KB with blue graduation, 100 ml capacity and NS 14/23 joint is designed for safer handling of hazardous or valuable solutions. The body is made from heat-resistant borosilicate glass 3.3 and shares the same class A technical specifications as the corresponding clear and amber flasks. A specially formulated transparent coating covers the body like a protective glove, holding fragments together if breakage occurs and thereby reducing spillage risk; in most cases the coating retains the contents inside the flask. The coating withstands temperatures up to 135 °C for a maximum of 30 minutes, may be cleaned at up to 95 °C and can be autoclaved at 121 °C, but must not contact an open flame. Calibrated to DIN/ISO class A with DE-M conformity marking and supplied with a leak-proof PE stopper, these coated flasks from manufacturer ISOLAB Laborgeräte come in a pack of 2 pieces. They are well suited to analytical and preparative work where both volumetric accuracy and an extra safety barrier against glass breakage are required.
This article is part of Volumetric flasks, in Volumetric glassware.

Questions about volumetric flask - standard - clear - class A - conformity batch certified -
What is this article?
volumetric flask - standard - clear - class A - conformity batch certified - is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ISOLAB for laboratory use. It sits in Volumetric flasks, inside Volumetric glassware, in Labware.
A volumetric flask is calibrated to contain one volume at a reference temperature, with a single mark on a narrow neck. Class A is the tight tolerance. It is not a storage bottle and it is not for heating. The stopper is part of the calibrated article.
Volumetric glassware is glass that has been calibrated to contain or to deliver one stated volume at a reference temperature. That calibration is the whole point. Class A and class AS have a tighter tolerance than class B. A volumetric flask contains. A pipette and a burette deliver. A measuring cylinder is the coarser reading, used when the volume is not the result. The classes sit under ISO laboratory glassware. The chain back to the unit of volume is the work of the BIPM and of NIST.
