Description

BOLA GL reducer GL 45 to GL 25 PP/PBTP is a laboratory adapter for transitioning from a GL 45 thread cap to a GL 25 threaded connector. The red screw cap is made of PBTP, while the movable reducing connector is produced from PP and fitted with an FKM O-ring to provide a secure seal on GL threads. Because the reducing stub can rotate freely, vessels may be exchanged without first dismantling connected equipment; hoses and cables do not twist during the changeover. The fitting is suitable for hose outer diameters from 1,6 mm to 14 mm, supporting common laboratory tubing used with GL bottle necks and larger GL outlets. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,0338 kg, it integrates readily into glassware and plastic vessel systems. This BOLA component from manufacturer Bohlender is intended for routine laboratory fluid handling and apparatus assembly where reliable GL-thread reduction and rapid vessel changes are required. The combination of PBTP, PP and FKM materials delivers dependable sealing in typical laboratory environments, while the rotatable design simplifies setup and reconfiguration of connected tubing and instruments.

Questions about BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 25 PP/PBTP

What is this article?

BOLA GL-Reductions, GL 45 - GL 25 PP/PBTP is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
