Description

BOLA Maxi propeller additional blades are solid PTFE stirring elements for matching PTFE stirrer shafts with a 16 mm shaft diameter. Blade dimensions according to the illustration are 200 mm, 26 mm and 6 mm (A – B – C), giving a large propeller geometry for effective mixing. The massive stirring blades are made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), while the clamping fixtures are manufactured from a PEEK compound. Several blades can be mounted torsion-proof at freely selectable height and rotation direction on the appropriate BOLA stirrer shafts using the clamp fastening. A matching open-end spanner (wrench size 32) is included for assembly. These additional blades from manufacturer Bohlender support modular multi-blade configurations in laboratory and process stirring where chemically resistant PTFE components are required. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 0,453 kg, they suit propeller-type assemblies and related stirrer setups that need extra blade capacity or adjustable geometry on PTFE shafts.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

What is this article?

BOLA Maxi Propeller Blades, Ø 16 mm a Ø 200 mm for stainless steel shafts jacket is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
