Description

BOLA anchor stirrer shaft, length 600 mm with shaft diameter 8 mm, is intended for laboratory surface stirring where chemical inertness is essential. The stainless steel shaft is PTFE-coated and the anchor stirrer blade is manufactured completely from PTFE, so the medium contacts only PTFE and benefits from universal chemical resistance. Blade measures according to the manufacturer figure are A 80 mm, B 50 mm, C 30 mm and D 44 mm, corresponding to a blade width of 80 mm and blade length of 50 mm. Chucking diameter is 6,5 mm for reliable mounting in overhead stirrer chucks. Net weight is 0,222 kg. From manufacturer Bohlender, this longer shaft pairs a mechanically stable steel core with fully PTFE wetted surfaces for gentle agitation of liquids and suspensions. The solid PTFE anchor blade prevents metal contact with the process medium. Pack size is 1 piece, ready for integration into existing laboratory stirrer drives used in chemical and materials work that require PTFE-compatible stirring elements.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

What is this article?

BOLA U-Shaped Stirrer Shafts, L 600 mm, Ø 8 mm, aØ 80x50 mm PTFE-coated STAINLES is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
