Description

Centrifuge 5427 R (EU-IVD) is a refrigerated non-automatic centrifuge with rotary knobs for 230 V/50–60 Hz (EU) use, supplied without rotor and designed for separation of liquid mixtures from the human body as an accessory together with an in-vitro diagnostic device. Cooling relies on natural refrigerant R290 to safeguard samples and limit environmental impact. Rotor capacity supports 48 × 1,5/2,0 mL or 12 × 5,0 mL tubes, and Eppendorf QuickLock® rotors allow quick, ergonomic lid closure. Maximum speed is 25,001 × g (16,220 rpm), so the high-capacity 48-place rotor can raise productivity and save time. Soft-touch lid operation, a temperature range from −11 °C to 40 °C, and FastTemp pre-cooling (for example from ~23 °C to 4 °C in 11 minutes) support controlled workflows. Programmable ECO shut-off after 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours of inactivity helps extend compressor life and cut energy use. An integrated condensate drain limits water accumulation; automatic rotor and imbalance detection add safety. ACT-certified by My Green Lab, this unit from manufacturer Eppendorf meets EU IVDR 2017/746 and is intended for indoor use by trained personnel. Pack size: 1 pc; net weight 31 kg.

This article is part of Benchtop & floor-standing centrifuges, in Centrifuges.

Questions about Centrifuge 5427 R 230V/50-60Hz

What is this article?

Centrifuge 5427 R 230V/50-60Hz is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Eppendorf for laboratory use. It sits in Benchtop & floor-standing centrifuges, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

A benchtop centrifuge sits on the bench and takes the ordinary tube rotors. A floor-standing model takes larger rotors and higher forces. Capacity, maximum force and which rotors are sold for it are the specification. Refrigeration is a separate choice, for samples that cannot warm.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
