Description
Ceramus® 1–5 ml is a universally applicable bottle-top dispenser with a ceramic piston, reagent recirculation system and variable volume setting in corresponding steps for flexible laboratory liquid handling. Specified for the 1–5 ml working range with a nominal volume of 5 ml (0,005 l), the unit features a Hastelloy spring and is sterilisable up to 121 °C for autoclave-compatible routines. It is supplied complete with an A 45 mm screw thread, three thread adapters (A 32, S 40 and A 38), one suction tube with union nut, one discharge unit and one assembly key. Each instrument carries an individual serial number and is delivered with an individual calibration certificate plus a declaration of conformity according to DIN 12600. This variable-volume model from manufacturer Hirschmann supports dispensing tasks that require selectable aliquots within the 1–5 ml range while the recirculation system aids reagent return to the bottle. The ceramic piston and Hastelloy spring construction favour durability in everyday analytical and general laboratory use. With a net weight of 0,388 kg, the dispenser mounts readily on standard reagent bottles for quality control, research and routine preparation workflows.

Questions about CERAMUS 1-5 ML, CONFORMITY CERTIFIED
What is this article?
CERAMUS 1-5 ML, CONFORMITY CERTIFIED is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hirschmann for laboratory use. It sits in Bottle-top dispensers, inside Liquid handling, in Lab instruments.
A bottle-top dispenser meters a reagent directly from the bottle it is mounted on, by a piston. The volume range and the chemical compatibility of the wetted parts, glass, ceramic, PTFE, are the specification. It is for the same reagent again and again, not for changing liquids every sample.
A piston pipette delivers a set volume of liquid by air displacement or, for viscous and volatile liquids, by positive displacement. A single channel is the ordinary tool. A multichannel repeats the same volume across a row of a plate. A bottle-top dispenser meters reagent from the bottle it sits on. The accuracy is a property of the pipette and of how it is used, which is why calibration and a certificate exist. Piston-operated apparatus is treated under ISO laboratory apparatus. The volume unit sits with the BIPM and NIST.
