Description

CO2 Incubator ICO240med is a TwinDISPLAY CO2 incubator configured as a medical device, offering a 241 l stainless steel interior for temperature- and atmosphere-controlled incubation. Setting temperatures span 18 °C to 50 °C, while the working range runs from 5 °C above ambient to 50 °C, supported by six-sided all-round heating and an electronic microprocessor temperature controller with Pt100 and self-diagnosis. CO2 concentration is adjustable from 0 % to 20 % via dual-beam NDIR measurement. When the water tray is filled and inserted, Peltier-based humidity limitation holds relative humidity at 93 % rh ± 2,5 %. Construction includes a fully insulated stainless steel outer door, a heated inner glass door, one water tray and two perforated stainless steel shelves, plus multiple over- and under-temperature alarms and a stored sterilisation programme. Exterior size is 759 x 1180 x 691 mm; interior is 600 x 810 x 500 mm. Electrical connection is 230 V, 50/60 Hz with about 1650 W maximum power consumption. A factory calibration certificate for +37 °C and 5 % CO2 accompanies this unit from manufacturer Memmert. Housing and chamber are stainless steel.

What is this article?

CO2-Incubator ICO240med, 241l, 18-50°C, CO2 control 0-20% is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Memmert for laboratory use. It sits in Incubators, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

An incubator holds the mild, even temperature a culture needs, often 25 °C or 37 °C, sometimes with carbon dioxide. It is not a drying oven. Uniformity and, for cells, the gas control are the specification. A flask of cells in a drying oven is a dead flask.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
