Description

CO2 Incubator ICO50 is a compact TwinDISPLAY laboratory incubator with a 56 l stainless steel interior for CO2-controlled culture applications. The setting temperature range is 18 °C to 50 °C and the working range extends from 5 °C above ambient to 50 °C, using six-sided all-round heating together with an electronic microprocessor controller featuring a Pt100 sensor and self-diagnosis system. CO2 is controlled from 0 % to 20 % by dual-beam NDIR measurement. With the water tray filled and inserted, a Peltier element limits interior relative humidity to 93 % rh ± 2,5 %. The appliance provides a fully insulated stainless steel outer door, a heated inner glass door, one water tray and one perforated stainless steel shelf. Multiple over- and under-temperature protection and a stored sterilisation programme are included for process reliability. Exterior dimensions are 559 x 795 x 521 mm and interior dimensions 400 x 425 x 330 mm; operation is at 230 V, 50/60 Hz with approximately 1100 W maximum power draw. A factory calibration certificate for +37 °C and 5 % CO2 is provided with this model from manufacturer Memmert. Housing and interior are manufactured in stainless steel.

What is this article?

CO2-Incubator ICO50, 56l, 18-50°C, CO2 control 0-20% is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Memmert for laboratory use. It sits in Incubators, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

An incubator holds the mild, even temperature a culture needs, often 25 °C or 37 °C, sometimes with carbon dioxide. It is not a drying oven. Uniformity and, for cells, the gas control are the specification. A flask of cells in a drying oven is a dead flask.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
