Description

Conical connector, 7 - 11 mm / 4 - 7 mm provides a secure, tool-free transition between laboratory hoses of different inner diameters. The stepped conical profile accepts tubing in the 7 - 11 mm range on one side and 4 - 7 mm on the other, enabling direct size adaptation without clamps or extra fittings. It is intended for safe collection of liquid HPLC waste as well as many other fluid-transfer applications at the bench. As part of the SCAT connector range, conical connectors complement capillary connectors, hose olives and Y-connectors; the series differs mainly in shape, number of ports and diameter combinations. The conical geometry helps seat flexible tubing firmly, supporting leak-resistant joins in solvent lines, waste paths and general laboratory manifolds. Supplied as 1 pc, this connector is a compact, practical component for building or maintaining HPLC waste systems and everyday tubing setups where a reliable diameter step-down or step-up is needed.

This article is part of Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Conical connector, 7 - 11 mm / 4 - 7 mm

What is this article?

Conical connector, 7 - 11 mm / 4 - 7 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes SCAT for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
