Description
Cylindrical cuvette type 120-QS is a precision cell for spectroscopy, manufactured from High Performance quartz glass and covering the wavelength range from 200 nm to 2500 nm. The 10 mm path length and 2,8 ml fill volume, combined with a PTFE stopper, make it suitable for routine work on common spectrophotometers. Highest path-length accuracy and parallelism support continuously reproducible measurement results. These Hellma® precision cuvettes from manufacturer Hellma (IDL) are produced entirely in Germany, thermally bonded rather than glued, and therefore highly resistant to temperature and chemicals, which also helps prevent unintended leakage. Selected High Performance quartz glass provides excellent transmission above 82 % for exact readings. Chamfered edges enable safe, comfortable handling and minimise chipping risk. The cuvettes can be cleaned and reused as a durable laboratory option. Manufacture follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 and meets high optical standards for UV through near-infrared applications.

Questions about cylindrical cells, 120
What is this article?
cylindrical cells, 120 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.
A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
