Description
Diaphragm vacuum pump N840.3FT.40.18 is a chemically resistant laboratory vacuum pump offering a flow rate of 2,04 m³/h at atmospheric pressure and an ultimate vacuum of 10 mbar abs. It is well suited to applications such as vacuum ovens and the handling of aggressive or corrosive gases and vapours. An integrated self-drying system from manufacturer KNF rapidly removes condensate from the pump heads without changing the vacuum level, which shortens process times and helps protect the heads. Pump-head material is PTFE, the diaphragm is PTFE-coated and the valves are FFPM. Operating overpressure is 1 bar and hose connections are ID 10 mm. The compact unit measures 189 × 239 × 341 mm and weighs 12,9 kg. Electrical data include 245 W power consumption, 230 V AC supply, IP44 protection and a Type F (Schuko) mains plug. Permissible media and ambient temperature range is +5 to +40 °C. Supplied as a single complete pump ready for laboratory installation.

Questions about Diaphragm Vacuum Pump N840.3FT.40.18
What is this article?
Diaphragm Vacuum Pump N840.3FT.40.18 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KNF for laboratory use. It sits in Vacuum pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.
A laboratory vacuum pump lowers pressure for filtration or evaporation. A diaphragm pump tolerates solvent vapour better than an oil-sealed rotary vane pump, and it reaches a milder vacuum. The ultimate vacuum and the flow, and whether the wetted path survives the solvent, are the choices.
A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
