Description

Double diaphragm pump 1/4'', PP, PTFE is an air-operated double diaphragm pump for transferring viscous, corrosive and abrasive liquids. The plastic construction is intended for small-volume delivery, laboratory use and occasional dispensing. Suction and pressure ports are 1/4'' internal connections, and solid particles up to 3 mm in diameter can be conveyed. Minimum air pressure at start-up is 2 bar; maximum operating air pressure is 8 bar. Supplied from manufacturer Bürkle, the pump offers high hydraulic performance together with a maintenance-optimised design and simple installation. Operation is blockage-free, absolutely oil-free and self-priming even in the dry state. Typical applications include chemical circulation and feed, liquids with solid particles such as paints and coatings, and electroplating fluids. Housing, diaphragms, valve balls and seals are offered in material combinations matched to the process medium, supporting reliable transfer where chemical resistance and dry-run capability are required in laboratory or light industrial settings.

This article is part of Vacuum pumps, in Pumps, vacuum & evaporation.

Questions about Double diaphragm pump 1/4'', PP, PTFE

What is this article?

Double diaphragm pump 1/4'', PP, PTFE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Vacuum pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.

A laboratory vacuum pump lowers pressure for filtration or evaporation. A diaphragm pump tolerates solvent vapour better than an oil-sealed rotary vane pump, and it reaches a milder vacuum. The ultimate vacuum and the flow, and whether the wetted path survives the solvent, are the choices.

A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
