Description

DURAN® thick-walled filtering beaker 250 ml is a cylindrical laboratory vessel with straight side walls manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. Thanks to this classic form, beakers of this type are universally applicable lab vessels that commonly serve as collecting vessels as well as for preparing, mixing and heating solutions. The large vessel opening permits easy filling. This model is executed as a thick-walled filtering beaker and incorporates a precise spout that supports clean working. Owing to its reduced thermal shock resistance it is only limitedly suitable for use as boiling glass. An easily readable scale with graduation enables convenient measurement of contents, while the white printed scale is fired on and therefore permanently durable. Supplied by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the 250 ml beaker is intended for filtration, heating, dilution of solutions, mixing of several components and measurement of liquid quantities. Its robust glass construction and clear graduation make it a practical everyday tool for routine laboratory procedures requiring reliable volume handling and filtration support.

Questions about DURAN® Beaker, heavy-wall, filtering beaker

What is this article?

DURAN® Beaker, heavy-wall, filtering beaker is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Beakers, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A beaker is an open, straight-sided working vessel with a spout. It is for dissolving, heating and pouring. The graduations are a guide, not a volumetric calibration. Low form and tall form differ in stability and in how easily a liquid splashes.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
