Description
DURAN® crystallising dish with spout is a flat, wide borosilicate glass 3.3 vessel with a nominal volume of 0,02 l for laboratory crystallisation and solvent evaporation. The shallow geometry and large base area promote rapid, uniform evaporation of solvents, helping convert substances and liquids into other physical states and prepare concentrated solutions for subsequent reactions. A precise pouring spout supports clean transfer and reduces drips during routine handling. The durable white printed marking is fired into the glass and remains legible under normal laboratory use. Manufactured from chemically resistant borosilicate glass 3.3, the dish suits everyday crystallisation work, concentration steps and related preparative tasks. This spouted design corresponds to DIN 12338; a version without spout is available under DIN 12337. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the dish is intended for general laboratory crystallisation and solution-concentration applications where a stable, wide evaporating surface and controlled pouring are required.

Questions about DURAN® Crystallizing Dish with spout
What is this article?
DURAN® Crystallizing Dish with spout is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Watch glasses & crystallising dishes, inside Dishes, crucibles & porcelain, in Labware.
A watch glass is a shallow curved cover or a dish for drying a few grams. A crystallising dish is the flatter, wider dish a solution is left in while a solid comes out. Neither is volumetric. Diameter is the specification.
A dish is an open vessel for drying, evaporating or holding a solid. Porcelain and glazed ceramic take a higher temperature than borosilicate glass, which is why a crucible, not a beaker, goes into a furnace. A watch glass covers, or holds a small amount for drying. A mortar is for grinding. The temperature and the chemical, not the shape alone, choose the material. Laboratory ware of this family is listed under ISO laboratory ware.
Which category should I open next?
