Description

DURAN® crystallising dish with spout is a flat, wide borosilicate glass 3.3 vessel with a nominal volume of 0,06 l for laboratory crystallisation and controlled solvent evaporation. Its shallow, open form and large base area enable fast, even evaporation of solvents, supporting the conversion of substances and liquids into other aggregate states and the preparation of concentrated solutions for further reactions. The precise spout allows clean pouring and tidy transfer of contents during daily laboratory work. A white printed scale or marking is fired into the glass so that it remains permanently legible. Made from chemically resistant borosilicate glass 3.3, the dish is suited to crystallisation, concentration and related preparative procedures. The spouted version follows DIN 12338; dishes without spout are offered under DIN 12337. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this 0,06 l crystallising dish provides a stable evaporating surface and reliable pouring behaviour for routine laboratory crystallisation and solution-concentration tasks.

This article is part of Watch glasses & crystallising dishes, in Dishes, crucibles & porcelain.

Questions about DURAN® Crystallizing Dish with spout

What is this article?

DURAN® Crystallizing Dish with spout is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Watch glasses & crystallising dishes, inside Dishes, crucibles & porcelain, in Labware.

A watch glass is a shallow curved cover or a dish for drying a few grams. A crystallising dish is the flatter, wider dish a solution is left in while a solid comes out. Neither is volumetric. Diameter is the specification.

A dish is an open vessel for drying, evaporating or holding a solid. Porcelain and glazed ceramic take a higher temperature than borosilicate glass, which is why a crucible, not a beaker, goes into a furnace. A watch glass covers, or holds a small amount for drying. A mortar is for grinding. The temperature and the chemical, not the shape alone, choose the material. Laboratory ware of this family is listed under ISO laboratory ware.
