DURAN® filter disc with unfused and centred rim and unfinished surface is a porous sintered glass plate produced from borosilicate glass 3.3. Featuring a diameter of 20 mm and porosity class 0, it is created by sintering glass powder of defined grain-size distribution to yield a solid yet permeable body. In plate form these components function as durable filter media, especially advantageous for separations involving strong acids or alkalis where plastic or paper materials are less suitable. The discs are offered in six porosity classes conforming to ISO 4796 and ASTM E128-99, ensuring the largest pore width can be matched slightly below the size of the smallest particles to be separated. Suitable for vacuum filtration at a maximum differential pressure of 1 bar, the article is intended for further glass processing.
