DURAN® spherical joint socket, imperial size S 13/5, is a precision borosilicate glass 3.3 component for creating flexible laboratory glass connections. Conforming to DIN 12244 and DIN 12264, these spherical joints allow bendable couplings of up to 15° depending on joint size; tightness may decrease at angles greater than 5°. The nominal size is defined by the nominal diameter of the spherical joint and, where relevant, the clear tube bore. Connections are intended for use with joint grease or PTFE sleeves, while spherical joint clamps with locking screws securely hold the assembly.
