Description

Cadmium electrode DX312, ISE/polymer membrane is an ion-selective half-cell for the determination of cadmium ions in laboratory samples. Each ion-selective electrode (ISE) and membrane module is wet-chemically tested to meet strict working specifications for multiple direct measurements and a typical titration application. Every ISE receives a serial number and is supplied with a quality certificate. The modular concept from manufacturer Mettler-Toledo OnLine comprises a shaft and an exchangeable membrane module: the shaft remains identical across half-cells while the module confers ion specificity. Laboratories can order the required membrane kit and simply screw the new module onto the existing shaft to obtain a fresh ISE for a different ion. For the DX312-Cd cadmium half-cell the shaft material is POM / PVC, the temperature range is 0 … 50 °C, the measuring range spans 1,0 … 1,0E-05 mol/L and the optimal pH range is 2 … 8. Supplied as one piece, this electrode supports flexible analytical workflows requiring reliable cadmium ISE performance with convenient modular membrane exchange.

Questions about DX312-Cd ISE half-cell electrode

What is this article?

DX312-Cd ISE half-cell electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Mettler-Toledo OnLine for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
