Description

EC800 laboratory benchtop conductivity meter is a straightforward, reliable instrument for research and scientific laboratories. It covers conductivity from 0 to 200 mS/cm across multiple sub-ranges (0,00–19,99 μS/cm up to 20,0–199,9 mS/cm), plus TDS 0–100 g/l, salinity 0–100 ppt and resistivity 0–100 MΩ·cm. Resolution steps are 0,01 μS/cm, 0,1 μS/cm, 1 μS/cm, 0,01 mS/cm and 0,1 mS/cm with accuracy ±1 % F.S. ± 1 digit. Automatic or manual temperature compensation spans 0 to 50 °C; selectable cell constants are 0,1/1/10 cm⁻¹ via BNC connection. Temperature measurement ranges from 0 to 100 °C at 0,1 °C resolution and ±0,5 °C ± 1 digit accuracy (Cinch).

This article is part of Conductivity meters & cells, in pH & electrochemistry. See also pH meters.

The large backlit LCD simultaneously displays conductivity/TDS/salinity/resistivity and temperature together with calibration information. Automatic 1- to 4-point calibration with reminder is provided. Supplied by manufacturer APERA Instruments with the high-quality 2301T-F conductivity electrode (integrated temperature sensor), flexible 602 electrode holder, standard solutions (84 μS/cm; 1413 μS/cm; 12,88 mS/cm), USB cable, PC-Link software, manual and DC 9 V/300 mA power supply. GLP-compliant storage holds 500 data groups; data output is via USB. IP54 housing measures 240 × 235 × 103 mm and weighs 1 kg (3,2 kg packed). 3-year meter warranty (6 months on electrode).

Questions about EC800 Laboratory Benchtop Conductivity Meter

What is this article?

EC800 Laboratory Benchtop Conductivity Meter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
