Description

edge® pH/°C electrode for meat with 1 m cable is a PVDF pH sensor with open junction and Viscolene electrolyte, intended for meat and semi-frozen food samples. It covers pH 0 to 12 and uses a conical tip of 6 mm × 10 mm with a double Ag/AgCl reference. Optional stainless-steel piercing blades FC098 or FC099 can be fitted for easier penetration of solid samples. A built-in microchip stores sensor type, ID and calibration data that edge® retrieves automatically on connection; the cable uses a 3,5 mm jack for quick, secure docking. Integrated temperature sensor and amplifier support combined pH and temperature measurement. Recommended operating range is 0 to 60 °C at a maximum pressure of 0,1 bar. Available as one piece from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, this electrode is matched to the edge® platform for food-industry pH work where digital electrode recognition and robust sample contact are needed. Net weight is 0,34 kg.

What is this article?

edge pH/°C electrode for Meat Products, 1 m cabel is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
