Description
Eyepiece camera USB KERN ODC 881 is a dedicated microscopy imaging module that turns a conventional non-digital microscope into a digital workstation for measurement, counting, documentation, archiving and image processing. Simply replace one eyepiece with the camera and connect it to a laptop or PC via the supplied USB 3.0 cable; power is drawn entirely through the USB link, so no separate power supply is required. The camera delivers 5,1 MP resolution and is designed for stable frame rates and smooth image performance when used with the included multilingual Microscope VIS software (KERN OXM 902). Compatible tube diameters are 23,2 mm as standard, plus 30,0 mm and 30,5 mm via the two supplied eyepiece adapters. The delivery set from manufacturer Kern also comprises a 1,5 m USB cable and an object micrometer for software calibration. Supplied as 1 pc, this compact eyepiece camera supports everyday laboratory and teaching workflows that demand reliable digital capture and analysis without replacing the existing optical stand.

Questions about Eyepiece Camera – USB KERN ODC 881
What is this article?
Eyepiece Camera – USB KERN ODC 881 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.
An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.
A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
