Description

VitraPOR® biplane glass filter plate with 210 mm diameter and porosity 0 is a precision filtration disc manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. It is supplied as a single piece with a defined thickness of 11,5 mm and a tolerance of ± 0,5 mm. Both faces are ground to achieve exact thickness control and a plane-parallel surface, supporting uniform contact and reliable seating in laboratory filtration assemblies. This VitraPOR® filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is intended for use as a durable glass frit element in analytical and preparative setups where dimensional accuracy and chemical resistance are required. Borosilicate 3.3 construction provides the thermal and chemical stability expected in routine laboratory work. The biplane geometry and carefully finished surfaces help maintain consistent flow behaviour across the full 210 mm working diameter. Porosity grade 0 represents the coarsest standard frit class in this series and is suited to applications that need a relatively open pore structure. Ground, plan-parallel faces further assist mounting in holders, custom glassware and filtration apparatus without compromising flatness or thickness uniformity.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, bi-plane, 210 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 11.5 mm ± 0.5 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
