Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate is a round, centred disc of borosilicate glass 3.3 with a diameter of 100 mm, porosity grade 3 and a thickness of 8,0 mm ± 1,8 mm. The untreated surface is prepared for direct incorporation into laboratory filtration set-ups and sintered-glass equipment. Supplied by manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, the plate delivers the chemical durability and thermal performance expected from borosilicate 3.3 glass. It is available as 1 pc and is intended for analytical chemistry, sample preparation and process filtration applications that benefit from a finer pore structure. Porosity 3 provides tighter particle retention while still allowing controlled flow. The disc fits custom filter holders or serves as a replacement element in established glassware systems. Produced in Germany (Rhineland-Palatinate), the filter plate maintains dimensional consistency within the stated thickness tolerance and withstands repeated laboratory use under normal conditions. Its precise geometry and robust material make it a dependable choice for laboratories requiring reproducible filtration results from high-quality borosilicate media.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 100 mm, Por. 3 Thickness 8.0 mm ± 1.8 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
