Description

Nitrogen round-bottom flask in heat-resistant borosilicate glass with NS 14/23 joint and angled side arm fitted with a PTFE stopcock is designed for inert-atmosphere and Schlenk-line work. The 250 ml vessel features a side arm angled at 25° and closed by a PTFE stopcock, enabling controlled gas exchange, evacuation or introduction of inert gas while maintaining a reliable seal. Thick wall construction, a heavy base and a reinforced rim reduce the risk of breakage during cleaning, handling and transport. Perfectly ground NS necks with a smooth interior provide a leak-tight connection to standard laboratory joints and stoppers. Capacity markings and inscriptions are printed in durable white enamel for clear readability. Manufactured by ISOLAB Laborgeräte to DIN and ISO glassware practices, this flask is well suited to air-sensitive synthesis, solvent drying and general Schlenk techniques in research and preparative laboratories. Supplied as a single piece for flexible integration into existing glassware setups.

This article is part of Round-bottom flasks, in Beakers & flasks. See also Flat-bottom flasks.

What is this article?

flasks - round bottom - for nitrogen - socket : NS 14/23 - 250 ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ISOLAB for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
