Description

Gassing lid with 2 valves 250 ml silicon nitride is a specialised steel-cased accessory for larger silicon nitride grinding bowls in ball-mill systems. Complete with two valves and a sealing ring, the lid fits silicon nitride bowls of 250 ml volume and permits milling under protective gas atmospheres as well as mechanical alloying. The dual valves allow easy and safe introduction of inert gas while the bowl remains tightly clamped inside the mill. Supplied by manufacturer Fritsch, the steel-framed design ensures secure sealing during demanding grinding cycles. For gas-tight removal and transport of the filled bowl a dedicated additional clamping system (article 90.1400.00) is necessary. With a net weight of 1,4 kg this lid supports laboratory sample preparation involving larger batch sizes of reactive or oxygen-sensitive materials. It is suited to materials-research and advanced ceramics workflows that rely on silicon nitride media for low contamination and high wear resistance under controlled atmospheric conditions.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about gassing lid with 2 valves for 250 ml silicon nitride

What is this article?

gassing lid with 2 valves for 250 ml silicon nitride is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Fritsch for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
