Description
HALO™ Bluetooth® pH/°C electrode for soil measurements is a high-quality refillable glass pH electrode with Bluetooth® Smart technology (Bluetooth® 4.0), a triple ceramic junction for short response times and an integrated temperature sensor. It supports direct pH and temperature measurement in soils for agricultural and environmental applications. Data transmit wirelessly to the free Hanna Lab App on Apple or Android devices or to the edge® blu pH meter. One Press Connect enables simple pairing over up to 10 m, while a blue Halo LED shows when the electrode is active and sending data. Sample tagging is available at the press of a button. Calibration data are stored internally, so recalibration is unnecessary when switching paired devices. Automatic temperature compensation reduces measurement error. The conical tip, 120 mm body length and 12 mm glass outer diameter suit soil work; overall length is 195 mm. The pH range is 0 to 12 and recommended operating temperature is −5 to 70 °C. Ambient conditions for the electronics are 0 to 50 °C; the electronics module is not waterproof. A replaceable CR2032 3V lithium battery provides about 500 hours of use. This electrode from manufacturer Hanna Instruments is supplied with soil auger, storage and cleaning solutions, pH 7,01 and 4,01 buffers, refill electrolyte, battery, quality certificate and instructions.

Questions about HALO - pH/temperature electrode for direct soil pH measurement
What is this article?
HALO - pH/temperature electrode for direct soil pH measurement is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
Which category should I open next?
