IKA MIXSTER SET 1 is a compact universal magnetic stirrer set with magnetic drive, supplied as one drive unit. In its basic configuration it functions as a powerful single-position magnetic stirrer for mixing volumes up to 5 litres at a maximum of 3000 rpm and viscosities up to 500 mPas. By linking additional IKA TWISTER stirring units the system can be expanded to a multi-position stirrer with up to 30 positions; positions may be controlled individually or simultaneously via the leader-follower principle. Optional accessories convert the drive into a nine-position mini-volume stirrer (TW.IX, 8–60 ml) or a vortex/orbital shaker (TW.VX). An intuitive chemically resistant 360° LED glass display conveys speed or power demand without alphanumeric read-out, enabling viscosity-change monitoring. Mixing starts by button, vessel placement or touch thanks to integrated beaker detection; a reverse function periodically changes rotation direction for difficult samples. With protection class IP 66 the unit (IKA) withstands harsh conditions, rinse-under-tap cleaning and incubator use up to 40 °C. Its compact red-dot-award-winning design suits space-limited laboratories.
