Description
LabSen 223 combined pH electrode for viscous and low-concentration solutions is purpose-built for challenging samples such as viscous media, low-ionic-strength solutions and titration work. Equipped with an integrated temperature sensor and a LabSen S-type hemispherical glass membrane, it reaches stable readings in 15 to 30 seconds while remaining up to ten times more robust than standard glass electrodes. A movable sleeve junction allows the electrolyte outflow rate to be adjusted to match the sample’s ionic strength and is easy to clean. The patented pH/temperature structure houses the NTC thermistor in a separate cavity under the membrane with heat-conducting medium, speeding temperature measurement by about 40 % and enhancing response and stability. TRIS-buffer compatible and produced with Swiss sensor technology from APERA Instruments, the electrode uses a lead-free special-glass shaft, long-life reference system and 3 M KCl electrolyte. Overall size is Ø12 × 130 mm with a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable ending in BNC (pH) and RCA (temperature) connectors. Measuring range spans 0 to 14 pH; recommended operating temperature is −5 to 100 °C. Ideal for viscous process samples, dilute aqueous matrices and precise laboratory titrations where conventional junctions may clog or respond slowly.

Questions about LabSen combined 223 pH electrode for viscous and low-concentration solutions
What is this article?
LabSen combined 223 pH electrode for viscous and low-concentration solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
