Description

LabSen 331 combined pH electrode is engineered for emulsions, suspensions, wastewater and protein- or sulphide-containing samples. Manufactured with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, it uses a solid polymer electrolyte together with a hole-diaphragm structure that resists pressure and prevents clogging; the electrolyte does not require refilling. A protective polyoxymethylene (POM) housing provides corrosion resistance and helps shield the electrode from impact damage. The LabSen S-type hemispherical glass membrane is low-resistance yet robust, delivering fully stabilised readings in 15 to 30 seconds and offering roughly tenfold greater toughness than conventional membranes, which markedly reduces breakage risk. The long-life reference system comprises a glass tube, AgCl and a reference silver wire, with cotton packing that limits AgCl–electrolyte reactions during temperature shifts, thereby improving reference stability and service life. Blue gel electrolyte does not flow and avoids air bubbles. Shaft dimensions are Ø12 × 120 mm. The BNC connector works with meters such as PH850, PC850, PH8500, PC8500, PH700 and similar instruments. No integrated temperature sensor is fitted; automatic temperature compensation requires a separate probe or manual entry. Measuring range is 0–14 pH; recommended operating temperature is 0–80 °C; storage solution is 3M KCl. Pack size is 1 piece.

Questions about LabSen®331 Professional Combination pH Electrode for Wastewater

What is this article?

LabSen®331 Professional Combination pH Electrode for Wastewater is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
