Description
LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G is a fully automatic glass mono-distillation water still for laboratory pure-water generation, suitable for wall mounting or benchtop installation. Distillation flasks, condensers and overflows are DURAN® / borosilicate glass 3.3; condensers use droplet-repellent vapour guidance and can be sterilised by steaming. Distillate is taken off on the right side through a hose connection. Mono-distillate conductivity is 2,2 µS/cm at 25 °C at a production rate of 4 L/h. Maximum heating power and power consumption are 3 kW. A solenoid valve manages the water supply; distillation of preheated cooling water saves energy, and automatic shut-off prevents unnecessary water consumption. Electronic level monitoring throughout the process, low-water cut-off, an electronic dirt sensor that initiates automatic evaporator rinsing, quartz-glass-sheathed heaters, a CO2 degassing opening on the condenser and a non-fogging, break-resistant removable front panel enable clear, controlled operation. The housing is powder-coated galvanised sheet steel. An integrated external level switch monitors fill level in a separate storage tank (Lauda). Cooling-water use is 1,2 L/min (min. differential pressure 3 bar, max. 7 bar; 1/2″ hose inlet/outlet). Dimensions 650 × 200 × 390 mm; weight 16 kg. Mains: 230 V; 50/60 Hz with angled Schuko plug (CEE7/7).
This article is part of Circulators, chillers & thermostats, in Heating, drying & cooling.

What is this article?
LAUDA Puridest PD 4 G Water still 230 V; 50/60 Hz is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lauda for laboratory use. It sits in Circulators, chillers & thermostats, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.
A circulator or thermostat holds a bath liquid at a set temperature and pumps it through a jacket. A chiller is the same idea aimed below ambient. The temperature range, the cooling power and the pump flow are the three numbers. The fluid has to match the range.
Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
