Description
LR 5000.4 is a double-walled stainless steel reactor vessel fitted with a bottom outlet valve and intended for use with the LR-5.ST laboratory reactor. The vessel provides a working volume of 5,0 l and incorporates a bottom drain valve with a diameter of 20 mm for controlled discharge of reaction mixtures. Surfaces in contact with the product are manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel and PTFE, offering chemical resistance suitable for a broad range of laboratory processes. The double-wall construction supports efficient temperature control via circulating media connected through the vessel jacket. A stainless steel metal adapter with M 16x1 male thread is included for attaching temperature hoses or quick-release couplings. This reactor vessel from manufacturer IKA is supplied as a single unit and is designed for integration into modular laboratory reactor systems where precise thermal management, robust product-contact materials and convenient bottom discharge are required for synthesis, mixing or process development work.
This article is part of Reaction vessels & jacketed vessels, in Beakers & flasks.

What is this article?
LR 5000.4, Stainless steel reactor vessel, dbl-walled, bot.drain, 5000 ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Reaction vessels & jacketed vessels, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
A reaction vessel is the flask a synthesis actually runs in, sometimes jacketed so a fluid can heat or cool the wall. The joints, the working volume and the jacket connections are the specification. It is not a storage bottle.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
