Description
Macro cuvette type 402-OG is an optical-glass cell for spectroscopy with a 50 mm path length and a PTFE lid. Designed for the wavelength range from 360 nm to 2500 nm, it offers a fill volume of 30,000 µl and is intended for reproducible absorbance and transmission measurements in the laboratory. Hellma macro cuvettes of this series are manufactured entirely in Germany with high dimensional precision so that measurement results remain consistent from cell to cell. The windows are thermally bonded rather than glued, which improves resistance to temperature and chemicals and reduces the risk of leakage. Selected optical glass provides transmission greater than 80 percent for accurate photometric work. Chamfered edges support safe handling and help minimise chipping during insertion into the spectrophotometer. The cuvette can be cleaned and reused, offering a durable alternative to disposable cells. Production follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001; a declaration of conformity is available from the Hellma website, with further certificates on request. Supplied as one piece for analytical and quality-control workflows.

Questions about macro cell, 402
What is this article?
macro cell, 402 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.
A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
