Description

MISA ICP-OES Standard 2 – Precious Metals is a ROTI®Star multi-element calibration standard containing 6 elements in 10 % hydrochloric acid for precious-metal determinations by ICP-OES. Supplied as a 100 ml unit in LDPE, it addresses laboratories that require a chloride-matrix multi-element reference rather than a nitric acid system. Typical physical data include a density of about 1,1 g/cm³ and a boiling point of approximately 85 °C, with UN number 1789. The six-element precious-metals composition supports calibration, verification and quality-control sequences for ICP-OES methods targeting noble and related metals in appropriate sample types. This preparation from manufacturer Carl ROTH sits within multi-element standards for ICP-OES under atomic spectroscopy applications (AAS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS). The 10 % HCl matrix is chosen to stabilise the stated element set for plasma measurement workflows. Packaged at 100 ml with an approximate weight of 0,120 kg in LDPE, the standard integrates into instrument calibration racks and reference inventories where precious-metal multi-element performance must be checked under controlled hydrochloric acid conditions in research, materials and analytical service laboratories.

Questions about MISA ICP-OES Standard 2-Precious Metals , ROTI®Star, 100 ml, LDPE

What is this article?

MISA ICP-OES Standard 2-Precious Metals , ROTI®Star, 100 ml, LDPE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in Photometers & spectrophotometers, inside Spectroscopy & photometry, in Lab instruments.

A photometer reads absorbance at one or a few wavelengths. A spectrophotometer scans or selects many. Both send light through a cuvette or a well. The wavelength range, UV or visible, and the bandwidth decide what can be measured. A visible-only instrument cannot read a nucleic acid at 260 nm.

A photometer or spectrophotometer sends light through a sample and reads how much was absorbed. In the range where the Beer–Lambert relation holds, absorbance tracks concentration. A refractometer reads how a liquid bends light, which tracks dissolved solids. A polarimeter reads the rotation of polarised light, the classical measurement for sugars. The lamp, the wavelength and the cuvette path length are the three things that have to be right before the number means anything. The optical quantities trace to NIST and the BIPM.
